PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – May 5th to 11th is National Small Business Week, a time to recognize the contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners.
A business that’s been open in Parkersburg for just 2 months is already feeling support from the community.
The Nutrition Mission, located at 1029 Market Street, is a nutrition and fitness club for health conscious individuals. It opened back in March. They offer healthy meal replacement shakes, energizing herbal teas, protein bars and snacks, and free fitness classes.
Ginny Curry, the owner, said they’ve had a great reception so far, which she appreciates as a small business owner.
“I think small businesses are the heart of the community, you build those relationships with small business owners and workers rather than the large corporations where you don’t know anybody. I know my customer’s names, what their orders are, I know what sports their children are playing, it’s just a totally different atmosphere when you’re a small business in the community,” Curry said.
“It’s definitely very special for me to be able to bring this option to my own hometown, to my family and my friends and my neighbors.”
