The HPV vaccine is the best protection against the HPV virus and the cancers it causes. All boys and girls between 11 and 12 should get the HPV vaccine.

The vaccine is given at this age for maximum immunity. About 80% of people – both men and women – will get a human papillomavirus (HPV) infection at some point in their lives. The HPV vaccine is a safe and effective vaccination against cancer.
